Applicability:
Several OSHA standards require the use of gas monitors. 29 CFR 1910.46(c) dealing with confined spaces, 29 CFR 1910.120(c) dealing with HAZWOPER and Appendix A of 29 CFR 1910.272 dealing with grain handling facilities are some of the more common. This course satisfies these requirements.
Time: 2-3 hours
Recommended for:
- anybody working in or around confined spaces, either as an entrant, attendant, or a rescuer.
- safety personnel and maintenance crews that routinely work around hazardous materials.

- operation of different types of air monitors
- routine gases monitored for
- explosive vs. normal ranges
- flammable gas principles
Upon completion: Students will be able to keep their training manual and receive a training certificate
Applicability:
All personnel who serve as entrants, attendants, or supervisors in a permit-required confined space are required to undergo training. This course satisfies the requirements for 29 CFR 1910.146 for general industry and 1926.120 for construction industry.
Time: 4-6 hours

- signs, symptoms, and consequences of exposure
- communication procedures
- basic air monitoring equipment and techniques
- understanding the entry permit
- self rescue and rescue techniques

Applicability:
This course is recommended for employees responsible for the rescue and removal of workers from horizontal and vertical confined spaces. Platinum Safety will provide applicable training equipment, client's specific equipment used can be incorporated into training for a better understanding of proper usage. The majority of this training is hands and can be somewhat demanding. Students are required to bring a rescue harness, rope rescue gloves, hard hat or rescue helmet, boots, safety glasses, and knee pads (if desired). This course satisfies the requirements for 29 CFR 1910.146 for general industry and 1926.120 for construction industry.
Time: 24 hours, annual 8 hour refresher required

- personnel responsible for rescue of workers from confined spaces

* A medical evaluation in accordance with the Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.134 is necessary in order to attend this course.
Applicability:
This course satisfies the requirements for 29 CFR 1910.146 for general industry and 1926.120 for construction. The majority of this training is hands and can be somewhat demanding. Students are required to bring a rescue harness, rope rescue gloves, hard hat or rescue helmet, boots, safety glasses, and knee pads (if desired).
Time: 8 hours
Recommended for:
- personnel certified as confined space rescuer and are in need of annual refresher

- review of the 24 hour rescue course
- understanding the OSHA standards
- permit and non permit required confined spaces
- air monitoring
- knots and rope rescue systems
- mechanical advantage systems
- incident command system
- rescue equipment and maintenance
- confined space entry/rescue will be practiced during course
